The TherAdapt Transition Chair is designed to accommodate the changing support requirements of special needs children. Positioning needs not only vary from child to child but often change over time for one child. Whether this seat is used in a clinic or school setting for multiple children or for the same child through years of growth and development, the Transition Chair "grows" and changes with the need. It is available in two sizes, Early Childhood and Secondary.

This multifunctional, multipurpose chair is easy to set up, easy to adjust, and easy to use in the classroom, clinic, or at home. The chair's adjustable seat height can be positioned lower for the user to sit with their feet on the ground encouraging independent transfers between sitting and standing. It can be raised higher for sitting at a desk or table top and used in conjunction with the adjustable height footrest. This highly adjustable chair allows therapists and teachers to change the seat width and depth, as well as the footplate height to properly position many children of varying sizes in the clinic or classroom. The seat to back angle can be adjusted up to 30 degrees of recline to increase trunk and pelvic support as needed for each individual child’s special needs.

An optional, cost effective Tilt is Space Kit, designed for moderately to severely involved users, includes the Transition Chair, Armrests, a Headrest, a Support Kit (including Foot Sandals, a Seat and Back Pad Set, and 4 Support Blocks), the Mobile Tilt Base and a Wood Tray. Additional items may be necessary to customize the chair for the individual user. Please refer to Accessories.
