The STRIDER® 12-inch No-Pedal Balance Bike is a great way for all kids, with or without special needs, to be introduced to bike riding. Gradually and safely learning about balance and steering before the introduction of pedals builds your child’s confidence and coordination at their own pace, without fear of falling. This fosters a sense of confidence and adventure while learning. Kids experience the feel of leaning and how steering affects the balance of the bike. Most "walk" the Strider 12 balance bike to start without using the seat. As they feel more comfortable, they sit on the seat and eventually lift their feet for gliding.

The Strider 12 is appropriate for children from approximately 18 months to 5 years of age. It has the lowest seat height range 11-17 in. (28-43 cm) of any balance bike on the market, fitting rider inseam measurements of 12-18 in. (31-46 cm). An optional Strider Performance Seat & Post can be purchased to provide a super comfortable padded seat. You can choose which size Seat Post you would need to accommodate your rider now and provide growth. The Standard Seat Post that comes with the Strider 12 provides a seat height range of 11-17 in. (28-43 cm) fitting rider inseam measurements of 12-18 in. (31-46 cm). The XL Seat Post plus Performance Seat provides a seat height range of 15-19 in (38-48 cm) fitting rider inseam measurements of 16-20 in. (41-51 cm).

Strider 12 Models Available

When balance and steering are mastered, transitioning to a bicycle with pedals is easy. The 12-Balance Bike is designed for children to graduate directly to a pedal bike, eliminating the need for tricycles and training wheels which do not teach balance on a bike anyway. The 12-Balance Bike does NOT have a chain or pedals. There is no need for adult prodding or pushing with the STRIDER™ 12 Balance Bike allowing kids to progress through the learning process at their own pace.

The Strider 12 balance bike works on the development of motor skills, specifically, balance, strength and coordination. Often increases in self-confidence and social interaction are a bonus as well.

By purchasing the optional Strider Rocking Base found in the accessory section, children younger than a year old and older can begin to build familiarity with the bike while developing their balance, spatial awareness, and core strength through rocking.
