Letters From Our Therapists

The Reach by Leggero is a lightweight, folding, stroller style pushchair. Offered in three frame sizes, the Reach 12, 14, and 16 can accommodate older and larger children up to 150 lbs. (68 kg)! The Reach offers a high degree of easy adjustability for seat and back angle and many optional accessories to customize postural support and meet the user’s unique positioning needs. The Leggero Reach is appropriate for users with mild to significant physical limitations. Leggero consistently offers products that are packaged in stylish, user and caregiver friendly systems and the Reach is no exception. It is offered in several contemporary colors.

The Leggero Reach comes standard with 3 separate fixed seat pan angle adjustments . The front of the seat pan remains stationary, the back of the seat will be lower than the front by 10, 20, or 30 degrees. The Reach also comes standard with up to 7 different lockout points for back angle adjustment (recline) . The number of back angle adjustments depends on the seat angle adjustment. Please refer to technical specifications in size chart for further details. Also standard are the Angle Adjustable Leg Rests . Angle Adjustable Leg Rests allow for elevation of the legs which adds to comfort in positioning when the recline function on the back is utilized. Leg rests can be elevated to 180 degrees (straight out and level with seat pan) and can be moved to 108 degrees of knee flexion (bending) when seat angle is adjusted. The Footplate is height adjustable. Quick Release Poly Rear Wheels have a Foot Activated Wheel Lock . Both Front Casters and Rear Wheels are made from polyurethane and will not go flat. Other family friendly features offered as standard include a height adjustable push handle, under the seat storage bag, rear anti-tip bars and a sunshade . The chair is very lightweight weighing only 25 lbs. (11kg) to 29 lbs.(13kg) depending on frame size. It folds quickly and compactly with optional postural supports in place, making it effortlessly transportable. It can also be stood up on one end in the folded position for storage.

Please Note: Arm Rests are NOT standard on the Reach and need to be ordered in the accessories section if desired.

In Step 1 , choose the size of your adaptive stroller using measurements provided in the Size Chart section on this page. The Reach can be purchased with a crash tested Transit Option enabling transport in a vehicle with wheelchair tie downs. The transit option includes 4 installed transportation anchors and has been tested in compliance with WC-19 standards. When choosing the Transit Option , you will also be asked to choose between a Transit 5-Point Harness , available with or without pads and a Transit Sure-Lok Lap Belt .

Important: Select the 5-Point Harness for occupants less than 50 lbs. (23 kg) and the Sure-Lok Lap Belt for occupants over 50 lbs. (23 kg). For occupants over 50 lbs. manufacturer testing met RESNA WC-19 with Sure-Lok Lap Belt ONLY. For added safety we recommend the use of the H-Harness or Chest Vest (Available in Required Step 4 and 6) to further secure trunk position.

In Step 1 , also please select the upholstery color for the push chair.

In Step 2 , to ensure proper position and anchoring of the pelvis, there is a choice of either a 2-Point or 4-Point Padded Positioning Belt . Webbed Belts are offered in 1 and 1.5 in. widths with 4.5, 5.5, or 7.5 in. wide pads. The number of points refers to the number of places the belt is attached to the frame. A 4-Point Belt will provide greater stability than a 2-Point Belt especially for a user with significant spasticity. The extra attachment points prevent the belt from riding up onto the abdomen or twisting and moving out of position. Four points of attachment are ideal to manage anterior pelvic tilt, pelvic rotation, and thrusting. Both styles of belt are equipped with a push button release, and a single, easy D-ring pull strap adjustment.

In Step 3 , choose the Seat Cushion Size . Seat Cushion size should match the size of your frame 12,14, or 16. The comfortable Planar (flat) Seat Cushion sits on top of a solid, depth adjustable seat pan. This cushion easily accommodates for growth in seat depth.

In Step 4 , you can choose to keep the standard Planar Back or upgrade to either the Contoured Adjustable Back or the Contoured Adjustable Back with Lumbar Support . Please refer to labeled pictures under main product image. If you choose to upgrade to a contoured back, you can also add an H-Harness with Soft Laterals for additional anterior (front) and lateral (side) support to the trunk. If you do add an H-Harness with Soft Laterals in this step, choose No Thank You in Step 6 when asked if you would like to purchase a Chest Vest Option.

In Step 5, choose a headrest. The 8” Oval and Respond™ Cradle Headrests are both adjustable in height and depth. LT Planar Rectangle Headrest essentially extends the seat back for posterior support only (behind the head) and is height adjustable along with the seat back.

In Step 6 , you can choose anterior postural chest support. Chest Vests are constructed from a unique open cell material that allows air to circulate, providing a more comfortable experience for the user. Swivel buckles on the lower attaching straps support the correct angle of attachment and full-length attaching straps provide for proper positioning of the side release buckles, ensuring the posture support maintains adjustment. The Contoured Style Chest Vest has a narrowed section over the sternum that better accommodates female users, G-tube users or those requiring a smaller support surface. The Classic Style Vest offers a large, padded surface for the thoracic area. Both styles are available in either Dynamic or Structured design. The Dynamic design provides postural control, a degree of trunk movement, and a softer fit on the body. The user has movement within a limited range, encouraging return to their neutral position. The Structured design is more resistant to high tone, aiding in the maintenance of correct posture. All vests are available in XS, S, and M. Please refer to the pictures under main product image for measuring guides to help determine correct size selection. Another option for anterior postural support is the Leggero H-Harness . It is available in small, medium and large sizes. Measuring guide can be found in the picture carousel. All harnesses are equipped with significant adjustability for proper fit

Reminder: DO NOT choose a Chest Vest or H-Harness in Step 6 if you have already chosen a Contoured Adjustable Back with H-Harness with Soft Laterals in Step 4.

In Step 7 , optional Lateral/ Pelvic Thigh Support(s) are available individually or as a pair. When used as a pair these thigh supports can effectively narrow the seat width of the chair from its either 12- or 14-inch maximum width. They can also be used to control excessive abduction (splaying) of the legs. These supports are adjustable in width, depth and angle.

In Step 8 , an optional Flip-Down Knee Abduction Block is available to prevent crossing of the legs if this is an issue for children with adductor hip muscle (inner thigh) spasticity. The Abduction Block is offered in two sizes. Optional Ankle Supports are also available to ensure proper positioning of the lower feet and lower legs. They can be purchased individually or as a pair and are offered with 2 different pad sizes.

The Reach’s durability is backed by warranty, and its generous growth potential guarantees many years of reliable use.
