The Jensen RESIDENTIAL ADA Swing Seat is designed to be safe, comfortable and accessible for all children including those with physical challenges. It meets ADA, CPSC and ASTM safety standards. The Swing Seat is designed for private home use, indoors and out. Critical user measurements safely accommodated by this swing seat are: thigh depth between 9-11 in.; hip width less than 13.5 in.; buttocks to top of head less than 28 in., and maximum weight of user 125 lbs.

The Swing Seat is rotationally molded for exceptional strength and all hardware except for the attaching chain, is stainless steel to prevent rust. The Swing Seat offers added support with side walls, large armrests and a large foot rest. Swing chains are adjustable to allow for different angles of recline. The Seat is designed with a Yoke and Locking System that meets safety standards for head entrapment.

Please Note: For additional support, an optional removable Harness is available in the accessories section on this page. However, the optional Harness DOES NOT meet ASTM and CPSC standards for head entrapment, which is why the yoke system is used. Jensen assumes no liability for injuries caused by use of the optional harness.

The Swing Seat comes in a variety of colors and a choice of chain lengths appropriate for either a 7 ft. or 8 ft. Swing Set Frame. During the ordering process you will be given the opportunity to order a Swing Set Frame if needed.

Swinging offers numerous benefits for children with special needs, particularly those with sensory processing difficulties or autism. The rhythmic, repetitive motion can be calming, helping to regulate sensory systems and reduce anxiety. Swinging also provides valuable vestibular input, which improves balance, coordination, and spatial awareness. With respect to social-emotional development, swinging can foster social interaction in playground settings and encourage skills like turn-taking and sharing. Overall, swinging is a fun and therapeutic activity that supports the physical, sensory, and social development of children with special needs.
